Qualified Social Worker, Stockport
Pay rate £38 per hour
Vitalis is recruiting a Qualified Social Worker to work in a Children’s Team in Stockport.
We seek agency social workers with experience in statutory social work with children and families. Contracts can be offered initially for up to 6 months, providing stability and security.
We aim to be responsive to our agency workers’ needs. Our model from referral to case closure allows us to tailor caseloads, primarily involving Child Protection and Child in Need cases, with options to allocate court cases or cared-for children as appropriate.
Our teams are based in the town hall district of Stockport, co-located with health, police, Early Help, and MASSH colleagues. We maintain manageable caseloads, averaging 20 cases, with regular reviews.
We provide a comprehensive induction, gradual caseload increase, and monthly reflective supervision, with additional support from senior practitioners and specialist services on domestic abuse and safeguarding.
Each team comprises a team leader, two senior practitioners, and six social workers, focusing on small geographical areas and maintaining strong links with local schools and health services.
We value flexibility and support working from home, using modern technology, and are open to requests for flexible or reduced hours to meet individual needs.
We recruit across various public sector roles, including:
