Qualified Social Worker
Fostering - Kinship

Location: South East

Pay rate: £35 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join the children’s Fostering service. This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's social work kinship team in the southeast. You will be supported by an experienced team manager. Our client has a strong and positive culture in this North West local authority, which we would love you to be a part of. We offer regular monthly supervision and group reflective supervision.

As part of this South East dedicated Fostering Team, you will be working in a busy and supportive team assessing and working with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage. Fostering work involves direct engagement with children and their families, partnering with agencies including police and health to ensure the best outcomes with sustainable positive change. The service maintains a strong link with Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care involvement is no longer necessary.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by social care values and principles, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you’ll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.

You’ll be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable results from your interventions. Using best practices, you’ll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you’ll have a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and operate as efficiently as possible.

Perfect candidate will be:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
  • Experience with Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection cases.
  • Supporting children and families involved in CIN and Child Protection planning, pre-proceedings, and court proceedings.
  • Understanding factors impacting children, including abuse and neglect.
  • Ability to undertake Child & Family Assessments with effective analysis, decision-making, planning, and review.
  • Proficient in direct work with children and families.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement for the best outcomes.
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills for service users.
  • Skilled at building meaningful relationships to engage children and families in assessments and plans.
  • Committed to providing high-quality services.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary, interagency teams.
