Job summary

Academics Ltd. seeks a qualified Teaching Assistant to support pupils and collaborate with teachers across Erdington and surrounding areas. The role covers day-to-day supply, short-term bookings and longer-term placements.

The successful candidate will have an Enhanced DBS (update service), a Level 2/3 or undergraduate degree in Education/Childcare, and a willingness to undertake relevant training. You’ll help create a positive learning environment and support SEND pupils.

Qualifications

• DBS check via update service.
• Qualified (e.g. Level 2/3 or Undergraduate degree in Education/Childcare).
• Willingness to complete relevant training when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' educational development and assist the class teacher.
• Create a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
• Provide tailored support for SEND pupils.
• Monitor students and report to the teacher as needed.
• De‑escalate behavioural conflicts and reinforce school policies.

Location: Erdington, B23

We are currently looking for a dedicated and qualified Teaching Assistant to work for a number of our schools based in Erdington and surrounding areas. The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to cover day to day supply, short-term bookings and long-term roles.

As a qualified Teaching Assistant your main responsibilities will consist of:

• Not only supporting pupils educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher
• Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom
• Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils
• Monitoring students and reporting to designated teacher when needed
• De‑escalating behavioural conflicts and recognising good behaviour in accordance with the schools policies

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Qualified (e.g. Level 2, Level 3 or Undergradtuate degree in Education/Childcare)
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
