Job summary

Academics is recruiting a qualified Teaching Assistant to support pupils across several schools in Halesowen and surrounding areas. The role involves covering day-to-day supply, short-term bookings and long-term roles, working closely with teachers to foster a positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will support SEND pupils, monitor progress and help de-escalate behavioural situations in line with school policies.

Qualifications

  • Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service).
  • Qualified (e.g. Level 2, Level 3 or Undergraduate degree in Education/Childcare).
  • Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed.

Responsibilities

Position: Qualified Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Halesowen, B63

We are currently looking for a dedicated and qualified Teaching Assistant to work for a number of our schools based in Halesowen and surrounding areas. The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to cover day to day supply, short-term bookings and long-term roles.

As a qualified Teaching Assistant your main responsibilities will consist of:

  • Not only supporting pupils educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher
  • Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom
  • Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils
  • Monitoring students and reporting to designated teacher when needed
  • De-escalating behavioural conflicts and recognising good behaviour in accordance with the schools policies

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
  • Qualified (e.g. Level 2, Level 3 or Undergradtuate degree in Education/Childcare)
  • Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
