Job summary

Academics is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils and assist the classroom across Yardley Wood and surrounding areas. The role covers day-to-day supply, short-term bookings, and long-term positions.

The candidate will implement tailored support for SEND pupils, help maintain a positive classroom environment, and work closely with teachers to ensure consistent progress.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service).
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed.

Responsibilities

• Not only supporting pupils educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher.
• Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom.
• Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils.
• Monitoring students and reporting to designated teacher when needed.
• De-escalating behavioural conflicts and recognising good behaviour in accordance with the schools policies.

Position: Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Yardley Wood, B14

We are currently looking for a dedicated and qualified Teaching Assistant to work for a number of our schools based in Yardley Wood and surrounding areas. The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to cover day to day supply, short-term bookings and long-term roles.

As a qualified Teaching Assistant your main responsibilities will consist of:

• Not only supporting pupils educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher
• Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom
• Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils
• Monitoring students and reporting to designated teacher when needed
• De-escalating behavioural conflicts and recognising good behaviour in accordance with the schools policies

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent e.g. Level 3 Childcare)
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
