Job summary

Mitie is seeking a QHSE Advisor to support on-site teams in Western Scotland, embedding a strong QHSE culture and ensuring safe, compliant service delivery across the contract.

You will work with operations to reduce risk, review risk assessments, and support incident investigations while staying current with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.

Qualifications

• Must hold NEBOSH Certificate in Health & Safety (or equivalent) with CDM knowledge.
• Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001 is required.
• Ability to prepare, review and understand risk assessments and method statements.
• Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, construction) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide QHSE advice to on-site operational teams to ensure safe, compliant service delivery.
• Promote a positive QHSE culture and support continuous improvement across the contract.
• Review and maintain risk assessments, method statements and site documentation.
• Support incident investigations, audits and inspections; ensure actions are tracked and closed out.

Job description

In this role, you'll work closely with operational teams to embed a strong QHSE culture, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.

Due to the travel within the role, the ideal location to be based for this role is Western Scotland.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide competent QHSE advice and support to on‑site operational teams to enable safe and compliant delivery of services
• Promote a positive QHSE culture and support continuous improvement across the contract
• Review, update and maintain risk assessments, method statements and site documentation
• Support incident investigations, audits and inspections, ensuring actions are tracked and closed out
• Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practice, sharing knowledge with colleagues as required

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

• NEBOSH Certificate in Health & Safety (or equivalent), inc. CDM
• Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001
• Ability to prepare, review and understand risk assessments and method statements
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment (e.g. nuclear, construction or similar)

What we're looking for

• A proactive and approachable individual who enjoys supporting others to work safely
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience within Construction or Power & Grid including the knowledge of Lifting Operations, Working at Heights
• Environmental qualification such as AIEMA and/or audit experience (desirable, not essential)
• A willingness to learn, develop and continuously improve QHSE standards on site
