Job summary

BGIS is seeking a motivated QHSE Advisor/Manager to drive Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental excellence across a diverse UK and Ireland FM portfolio.

Role can be at Advisor or Manager level depending on experience; travel across the UK and Ireland is expected. You will partner with operational teams and clients to ensure compliance, reduce risk and promote a positive QHSE culture.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• IOSH membership or working towards appropriate level.
• Experience in Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering or similar environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems.
• Experience undertaking audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• RAMS, Permit to Work, COSHH knowledge and contractor management.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills (MS Office/Excel).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional QHSE guidance across multiple FM contracts and operations.
• Support and continually improve the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001/14001/45001).
• Conduct site audits, inspections and compliance reviews; identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with contract mobilisations and embed QHSE requirements from the outset.
• Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Promote health, safety and wellbeing through training and engagement.
• Produce QHSE performance data, reports and MI.
• Manage non-conformances, complaints and CAPs.
• Support supplier and subcontractor compliance assessments.
• Assist with external audits, accreditations, PQQ submissions and inspections.
• Develop risk assessments, safe systems of work and procedures.
• Deliver QHSE training and toolbox talks across the business.
• Support Safety Representatives and Safety Champions development.
• Lead or support continuous improvement and strategic QHSE initiatives.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced QHSE Advisor / Manager to join our team, supporting the delivery of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental excellence across a diverse Facilities Management portfolio throughout the UK and Ireland.

This role can be appointed at either Advisor or Manager level depending on the experience and capabilities of the successful candidate. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to influence operational performance, drive continuous improvement, and promote a positive QHSE culture across a range of commercial and corporate environments.

Reporting to the QHSE Director, you will partner closely with operational teams, contract managers and clients to ensure compliance, reduce risk and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional QHSE guidance and support across multiple FM contracts and business operations.
• Support, maintain and continually improve the company's Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
• Conduct site audits, inspections and compliance reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support contract mobilisations and ensure QHSE requirements are embedded from the outset.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
• Promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture through engagement, coaching and training.
• Produce and analyse QHSE performance data, reports and management information.
• Manage non-conformances, complaints and corrective action plans.
• Support supplier and subcontractor compliance assessments and reviews.
• Assist with external audits, accreditations, PQQ submissions and regulatory inspections.
• Develop and review risk assessments, safe systems of work and operational procedures.
• Deliver QHSE training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives across the business.
• Support the development of Safety Representatives and Safety Champions.
• Lead or support continuous improvement projects and strategic QHSE initiatives.

About You Essential

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
• IOSH membership (or working towards an appropriate level of membership).
• Experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering or a similar operational environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Experience undertaking audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Knowledge of RAMS, Permit to Work systems, COSHH and contractor management.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland.

Desirable

• Lead/Internal Auditor qualification.
• IEMA membership or environmental qualifications.
• Technical or engineering background.
• Experience using Power BI.
• Experience supporting multi-site FM contracts.
