Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager for the Future Defence Infrastructure Services contract in Rosyth. You will lead QHSE compliance, perform audits and investigations, and guide managers and staff on health, safety and environment best practices.

The role requires a minimum of five years in QHSE with a level 6 safety qualification, strong IT skills, and the ability to work autonomously while coordinating with contractors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in QHSE, including managerial experience.
• Level 6 professional Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6.
• CMIOSH membership is desirable.
• Strong IT skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage QHSE compliance and risk, ensuring operations meet standards, legal requirements, and third-party accreditations.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and accident investigations, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide QHSE advice, training and guidance to managers and employees to promote a positive health and safety culture.
• Manage contractor, client and stakeholder engagement, supporting contract mobilisations and liaising with authorities as required.
• Support the wider QHSE function and senior management, deputising for the Senior QHSE Manager when required.

Join our team as a QHSE Manager in a rare opportunity on our Future Defence Infrastructure Services contract and play a pivotal role in ensuring that Mitie's operations are executed safely and efficiently. As a key member of the team, you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding our people, clients, and the environment.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HSE Manager to support management on our FDIS Contract and guarantee that Mitie's operations are executed safely and efficiently. This includes the application of the integrated business management system to maintain a sturdy and effective system that adheres to the company's and third-party accreditation standards for quality, health, safety, and the environment.

Main Duties:

• Manage QHSE compliance and risk, ensuring operations meet company standards, legal requirements, environmental obligations and third-party accreditations.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and accident investigations, identifying hazards and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Provide QHSE advice, training and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
• Manage contractor, client and stakeholder engagement, supporting contract mobilisations, maintaining QHSE documentation and liaising with relevant authorities where required.
• Support the wider QHSE function and senior management, participating in meetings and employee forums, contributing to organisational QHSE objectives and deputising for the Senior QHSE Manager when required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in QHSE, including experience operating at a managerial level.
• Level 6 professional Health & Safety qualification, such as a NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
• CMIOSH membership is desirable, demonstrating recognised professional competence in health and safety.
• Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to use initiative and work effectively and independently.
