The Role
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for all aspects of procurement and purchasing of goods, materials, and services. Ensuring that the company's operational needs are met in line with i2r's sustainable procurement guidelines, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and purchasing of all production and non-production materials and services.
- Manage customer contracted and non-contracted metal demand and purchase contracts with all group and non-group suppliers.
- Manage stocks of all purchased goods in line with company objectives and report accordingly.
- Manage all group and non-group metal scrap contracts.
- Conduct demand analysis, generate purchase orders, and ensure expedition.
- Maintain supplier communication and management, ensuring clear and timely lines of communication and supply.
- Assess and manage all supply in line with i2r's sustainable procurement guidelines.
- Negotiate and approve supplier contracts, maintain documentation, and proactively assess renewal requirements.
- Manage tender processes, gather data, collate quotations, and arrange sample trials where applicable.
- Manage the supplier database, qualification, and new supplier setup via the i2r Supplier Portal (Ariba).
- Lead development and implementation of processes to evaluate and report on supplier performance.
- Create, review, and maintain purchasing processes and procedures.
- Manage and maintain purchasing databases and files, including contracts, pricing, and orders, and provide reports to internal stakeholders.
- Identify demand outlets for slow-moving purchased materials.
- Support SAP purchasing implementation.
- Drive cost savings and conduct regular benchmarking exercises to ensure the best prices are obtained.
- Manage and support direct reports, assign responsibilities, and ensure effective training and development of the team.
About You
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience in Purchasing, Procurement, and Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Experience
- Experience in fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environments.
- Familiarity with Supplier Portals, SAP, System Migration.
- CIPS qualification or working towards it.
