Job summary

Pertemps Glasgow Perms is recruiting a Purchase Ledger Supervisor for the Glasgow area. The role focuses on ownership of the Purchase Ledger function, managing a team of assistants, and building strong supplier relationships.

Salary up to £34k depending on experience, with a 35-hour working week, flexible working options and free parking. Based outside Glasgow, the position supports a wider finance team and cash flow forecasting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within Purchase Ledger/Accounts Payable.
• Strong understanding of AP processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident managing queries and building relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience supervising or supporting a team would be highly desirable.
• Good Excel and finance systems knowledge.
• AAT or equivalent would be advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day Purchase Ledger function.
• Supervising and supporting Purchase Ledger Assistants.
• Processing and reconciling supplier invoices and statements.
• Preparing and managing payment runs.
• Dealing with supplier queries, disputes and outstanding credit notes.
• Monitoring the Purchase Ledger inbox and allocating workload.
• Completing month-end reconciliations and aged creditor reports.
• Producing VAT, supplier spend and other financial reports.
• Working closely with internal departments and external suppliers.
• Supporting the Finance Manager with cash flow and payment forecasting.
• Identifying training and development opportunities within the team.
