Are you an organized and efficient individual with a passion for finance? Are you ready to take your finance career to the next level? Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Purchase Ledger and Credit Control Assistant to join their dynamic team in Birmingham.

As a Purchase Ledger and Credit Control Assistant, you will play a vital role in the small and supportive Finance department, ensuring the smooth processing of supplier invoices and effective management of credit control procedures. What You'll Do:

  • Accurately process monthly supplier invoices
  • Process supplier payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Perform credit checks on new customers and set appropriate credit limits
  • Chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and letters
  • Negotiate payment plans and terms as needed
  • Assist with financial reports and month-end procedures
  • Support the Head of Finance with ad-hoc tasks and projects
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in purchase ledger and credit control roles
  • AAT Level 2 qualification
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices
