Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council in Scotland is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support teachers in raising attainment and to assist with the care, health and safety of pupils. You will work with pupils from P1 to S6 and may be required to move across schools within the Peterhead CSN cluster.

The role is fixed-term to 31 March 2027, involves safeguarding responsibilities under PVG guidance, and requires flexibility in location and ongoing commitment to high-quality service delivery.

Job description

Assist teachers in promoting achievement and raising the standards of pupil attainment and provide general support in relation to the needs of the class and individuals' care, health and wellbeing and safety; to ensure a secure and safe environment.

There is a requirement to be flexible in school location within the cluster, according to individual circumstances and work with a range of pupils from P1 - S6.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Initially you will be based in the location advertised, but you may

be required

to work elsewhere within the Peterhead CSN.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
