Job summary

Whickham School is seeking a confident BIS Support Officer to join our Behaviour and Inclusion Support (BIS) team. This hands-on pastoral role works directly with pupils facing barriers to learning, delivering mentoring and targeted interventions to support progress.

You will manage an identified caseload, build positive relationships with pupils and families, and work with the Senior Pastoral Leader and wider team to identify concerns and ensure they are followed up and acted upon.

Qualifications

• Pastoral, behaviour or youth-work experience is desirable.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Confident working with young people and maintaining boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with pupils facing barriers to learning and provide mentoring.
• Manage an identified caseload and deliver targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with the BIS team and Senior Pastoral Leader to address concerns and follow up actions.
• Support a calm and consistent handling of challenging situations.
