Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Stafford is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour / Pastoral Support Officer for a permanent role from September 2026. You will support student behaviour, attendance and wellbeing across a mainstream secondary setting.

The successful candidate will work with Heads of Year and the pastoral team, provide in-class and out-of-class behavioural support, and help implement whole-school behaviour policies to foster positive engagement with learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in school, youth work, mentoring or similar.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support students with behaviour, attendance and pastoral needs across the school.
• Work closely with Heads of Year and the wider pastoral team.
• Provide in-class and out-of-class behavioural support.
• Help implement whole-school behaviour policies and interventions.
• Support students in developing positive attitudes to learning.
• Liaise with teaching staff, parents and external agencies where appropriate.
