Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and develop opportunities within public sector highways markets. The role involves building relationships with Local Authorities and other public bodies, shaping account plans and monitoring funding opportunities.

Regular travel across the North West/Midlands and wider England is expected, with a focus on delivering growth for the Infrastructure division.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Local Authorities, Combined Authorities or public sector infrastructure clients.
• Strong understanding of public sector procurement, frameworks, governance and funding.
• Knowledge of local government decision-making and transport infrastructure investment.
• Established network across the highways and wider transport infrastructure sector.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver business development plans across public sector highways markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Local Authorities, Combined Authorities, Transport Authorities and other public sector organisations.
• Develop customer account plans, identifying strategic priorities, investment programmes, funding and future opportunities.
• Monitor transport and infrastructure plans, procurement strategies, frameworks and funding to identify opportunities early.
• Manage and maintain an accurate business development pipeline, providing market intelligence and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Represent Galliford Try at industry events and stakeholder forums, promoting our capabilities, values and reputation.
• Support customer-facing materials, presentations, case studies and thought leadership that strengthen our market position.
• Promote effective stakeholder engagement, knowledge sharing and best practice across the business.
