Job summary

Harvey Nash Group is seeking an experienced Content Designer to join a large-scale public sector programme on an initial 6-month contract in Leeds. The role is hybrid, with 3 days onsite per week, and involves delivering clear, user-centred content for complex digital services.

You will work with user researchers, service designers and product managers to translate policy and processes into accessible content and to support end-to-end service experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as a Content Designer, ideally within government or the wider public sector.
• Experience designing content for complex transactional or digital services.
• Excellent understanding of user-centred design (UCD) principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, create and iterate clear, accessible, user-centred content across digital services.
• Use user research, analytics and other evidence to make informed content decisions.
• Translate complex information, policy and processes into content that is easy for users to understand and act upon.
• Map and understand user journeys to ensure content supports the end-to-end service experience.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary Agile teams.
• Develop and maintain content patterns, standards and guidance.
• Prototype and test content with users, iterating based on evidence and feedback.
• Work effectively with stakeholders, challenging requirements where necessary to advocate for user needs.
• Ensure content meets accessibility requirements and relevant public sector digital standards.
• Contribute to content strategy and continuous improvement across the programme.
