Job summary

Devon & Cornwall Police Force in Plymouth is seeking a Resource Management Planner. This temporary, full-time role (37 hours per week) offers £14.10 per hour and runs until February 2027.

You will help ensure optimal staffing levels and respond to changing operational demands. You will maintain staffing data in force IT systems, generate resource plans, and act as first point of contact for resourcing inquiries.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of resource management and planning with knowledge of relevant IT systems.
• Familiarity with Working Time Regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for staff at all levels.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Teams and Outlook.
• Ability to analyse large data sets and identify gaps or inconsistencies.
• Experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain staffing levels for daily policing activities and operations.
• Identify and report staffing shortfalls; escalate as needed.
• Record data accurately in Force IT systems to enable resource plans.
• Provide first point of contact for resource management inquiries; handle requests.
• Support upkeep of the organisational skill base and training needs.
• Produce insightful reports to aid managers in resourcing decisions.
