Job summary

Adecco are recruiting a Resource Management Planner to support Devon & Cornwall Police Force in Exeter. This temporary role offers 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at 14.10 per hour with an end date in February 2027.

You will manage staffing, data, and resource plans to meet operational policing demands. Key duties include maintaining staffing levels, addressing shortfalls, data management, and providing first-line support on resource inquiries.

Qualifications

• Solid resource planning and data management experience.
• Knowledge of Working Time Regulations is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Teams and Outlook.
• Able to analyse large data sets and recognise gaps quickly.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

As the Resource Planner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering effective resource plans to meet the diverse needs of various business areas. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining Staffing Levels: Ensure adequate staffing for daily policing activities and planned or spontaneous operations.
• Addressing Shortfalls: Proactively identify and report any staffing shortfalls, escalating issues as necessary.
• Data Management: Accurately record data within the Force IT Systems to enable the creation of comprehensive resource plans.
• First Point of Contact: Provide professional and courteous support for resource management inquiries, handling requests and issues with confidence.
• Skill Base Maintenance: Support the upkeep of the organisational skill base, ensuring staff have the appropriate training and skills.
• Reporting & Analysis: Produce insightful reports to aid managers in making informed resourcing decisions.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:

• A solid understanding of resource management and planning, along with knowledge of relevant IT systems.
• Familiarity with Working Time Regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with staff at all levels, including senior officers.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• The ability to analyse large data sets and quickly identify gaps or inconsistencies.
• Proven experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
