Job summary

The Zetter Group are seeking a Hotel Public Area Attendant to maintain a pristine, welcoming environment across public spaces in our London property. You will play a key role in upholding our high standards of cleanliness and guest experience, with duties spanning lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and event areas.

You will work closely with the housekeeping team to ensure smooth transitions between areas, assist guests with inquiries, and support event setups when required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and the proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all public spaces, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and lounges.
• Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish surfaces and fixtures in public areas.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in public restrooms, restocking supplies as needed.
• Monitor and address any maintenance issues in restrooms promptly.
• Empty trash bins in public areas and replace liners as required.
• Arrange and organize furniture and decor in public areas to maintain an aesthetically pleasing layout.
• Provide a friendly and helpful presence to guests in public areas.
• Coordinate with the housekeeping department to ensure seamless cleanliness transitions between public areas and guest rooms.

The Role

As a Hotel Public Area Attendant, you are instrumental in creating a welcoming and pristine environment for guests beyond their rooms. Your primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness and attractiveness of all public areas within the hotel, ensuring a positive and memorable guest experience. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all public spaces, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and lounges, to ensure a neat and inviting atmosphere.
• Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish surfaces and fixtures in public areas regularly.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in public restrooms, restocking supplies as needed.
• Monitor and address any maintenance issues in restrooms promptly.
• Empty trash bins in public areas and replace liners as required.
• Properly dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in trash storage areas.
• Arrange and organize furniture and decor in public areas to maintain an aesthetically pleasing and functional layout.
• Provide a friendly and helpful presence to guests in public areas.
• Assist guests with inquiries and provide information about hotel facilities and services.
• Coordinate with the rest of the housekeeping department to ensure seamless cleanliness transitions between public areas and guest rooms.
• Report any maintenance issues or damages on Flexkeeping.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of public areas for special events or functions.
• Ensure public spaces are presentable and well-maintained during events.

About You

• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and the proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• This position involves frequent movement throughout the hotel, exposure to cleaning chemicals, and the need to lift and carry supplies. Flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
