Job summary

Hydes, the operator behind The Horse & Farrier in Gatley, is seeking a Pub Chef to join a busy, community-focused kitchen. You’ll deliver excellent food standards in a friendly environment and support the Kitchen Team with accuracy and pride.

You’ll work across all stations, prepare starters, mains and desserts, assist with ordering and stock, and aim to maintain a 5-star rating. Flexible hours (up to 40-48 hours weekly or part-time) allow progression through funded hospitality qualifications.

What you’ll be doing as Pub Chef?

Here at Hydes, food quality and looking after our people is key. As our Pub Chef, you will enjoy delivering excellent food standards always in a friendly and supportive environment.

As a key member of the brigade, you will have an attention to detail, ensuring all dishes are prepared to spec, and have experience of all stations with the ability to produce a range of starters, mains and desserts. You will also support your Kitchen Manager with food ordering, stock management, and maintaining a 5-star rating. You may have previous experience in a small but busy pub kitchen environment. You may also be a commis who is looking to progress.

The Horse and Farrier is located right in the middle of Gatley village - you can't miss it! It boasts exceptional cask beer, world lagers and fine wines as well as a large range of spirits. There is high quality value led food menu which also helps to ensure that the Farrier is a real community hub. There's so much going on here and it's always buzzing - with sport, charity events and so much more to give people a reason to visit.
