This placement offers a fantastic opportunity for an undergraduate with an interest in psychology and special educational needs (SEN) to gain hands-on experience in a primary school. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support Autistic children by providing tailored interventions, helping with classroom activities, and working on strategies that improve their learning, social, and communication skills. You will collaborate with the SENCo and class teachers to implement individualised learning plans and monitor progress.
The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate with a background or interest in psychology or a related field. You should have a passion for supporting children with SEN and be able to provide patience, empathy, and understanding. Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff are essential for this role.
