The Role
This Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role involves supporting pupils with Autism, either one-to-one or in small groups, helping them engage with their learning and manage the school environment. You’ll assist the class teacher, implement behaviour and communication strategies, and track pupil progress in line with individual learning plans. It’s a rewarding role ideal for someone looking to develop practical SEN experience ahead of further study or training.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Psychology graduate with a strong interest in special educational needs, particularly Autism. Patience, empathy and excellent communication skills are essential. Previous experience working with children in any capacity is beneficial, but not essential. What matters most is a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt in a busy school setting.
