SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
Are you a graduate looking to gain school-based experience supporting children with special educational needs before pursuing a career in education or psychology?
*** SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
*** September 2025 to July 2026
*** £80 - £90 per day
*** ‘Outstanding’ primary school, Yardley
*** 1:1 and small group support for children with Autism & ADHD
The Role
This full-time SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive in the classroom. Working under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher, the successful candidate will provide tailored support to pupils with Autism and ADHD. You’ll build strong relationships, adapt learning tasks, support behaviour and social development, and help create an inclusive learning environment.
The Candidate
This role would suit a psychology, education, or related graduate who is patient, empathetic, and proactive. Prior experience supporting children—whether in a school, youth group, or care setting—is advantageous, but not essential. What matters most is your commitment to making a difference, your willingness to learn, and your ability to build trust and rapport with children who have additional needs.
The School
Located in Yardley, this ‘Outstanding’ primary school is known for its inclusive ethos and excellent SEN provision. Staff are supportive, experienced, and collaborative. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will receive training and guidance, with the opportunity to observe experienced practitioners and play a key part in the pastoral and academic development of the children you support.
Due to the number of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted.
