Job summary

Education Network is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 10 pupil with additional needs in a state-of-the-art secondary setting in the Walsall area.

You will help the pupil stay focused, break tasks into manageable steps, reinforce routines, and build confidence with classwork while keeping the SENCO updated on progress. A 2:2 or higher degree is required, and an Enhanced DBS is preferred or willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Degree – a 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Genuine interest in education/with children and supporting pupil progress.
• Desire to pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic and emotional support to a Year 10 pupil.
• Help pupil stay focused, break tasks into manageable steps, reinforce routines.
• Build confidence with classwork and monitor progress with the SENCO.
• Support SEND provision and access to learning for the pupil throughout the day.
