Job summary

Specialist Engineering is seeking a permanent Proposal Engineer to aid in the submission and award of contracts across the UK. The role focuses on tendering, interpreting drawings and specifications to prepare detailed bills of quantities and procurement documentation.

You will work with the estimating team to review tender documents, price tenders, assess risk, and manage project risk registers. Although office-based, occasional client site visits across the UK are required.

Qualifications

• A strong background in tendering and proposal submission within Engineering/Construction
• The ability to read and understand the sequencing of project programs or schedules
• IT literacy in MS applications (Excel and Word), with estimating software experience being highly advantageous
• Excellent communication skills to meet tight deadlines and liaise with clients and senior management

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents to assess scope, risk and complexity
• Price tenders against framework schedules and assess contract terms
• Manage project risk registers throughout the tender lifecycle
• Attend project start-up meetings and prepare handover information for production teams
