Job summary

Galliford Try seeks an organised MCC Proposals Engineer in Coventry or Norwich to prepare, deliver and negotiate tenders for Motor Control Centres and control panels, aligning with customer specs and margins. You will work with engineering, design and sales teams, attend client site visits, and maintain tender databases while supporting post-submission negotiations.

A strong background in electrical engineering and tendering, with IT skills and attention to detail, is essential.

Qualifications

• HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in tendering, proposals, estimating or commercial administration within engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong administrative and document control experience.
• Familiarity with databases, CRM systems, or sales order software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue tenders for MCCs and control panels with alignment to customer specifications and margins.
• Review client enquiries and electrical specs with internal teams for compliant technical solutions.
• Coordinate with engineering, design and sales during the tender process and support handovers.
• Attend client site visits and tender review meetings, discussing proposals with clients.
• Maintain tendering databases and support post-submission negotiations to secure profitable orders.
• Contribute to consistent order intake and high-quality tender documents with deadlines and cash-flow considerations.
• Engage with clients post-submission to negotiate and close orders.
• Collaborate across the business and feed back for future tender improvements.
