Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Project Worker – Temporary Maternity Cover in Hartlepool to support customers who have experienced homelessness, assess needs, and update support plans. You will be the first point of contact, building relationships that respect choice, privacy and dignity while coordinating with external partners to promote wellbeing and education.

The role requires teamwork, strong literacy/numeracy, and IT skills, with NVQ3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to pursue it.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults who have experienced homelessness.
  • Positive, flexible and enthusiastic approach.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Strong organisational skills with good literacy and numeracy.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar).

Project Worker – Temporary Maternity Cover

Location: 19‑27 Glamis Walk, Hartlepool, Durham, TS25 3JW.

Salary: £13.87 per hour

Hours: 37.5 per week

Your role
  • Support customers who have experienced homelessness to build independence and reach their potential.
  • Assess needs and update support plans.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer queries.
  • Build positive relationships that respect choice, privacy and dignity.
  • Work with external partners to boost confidence, health and wellbeing and encourage education and employment.

(This role is also referred to as Support Worker, Support Assistant or Independent Living Assistant).
