Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Sheffield, S13 area, is seeking a Female Project Worker to join the Sanctuary Supported Living service. The role supports individuals experiencing domestic abuse, working within a compassionate, community-focused team and a not-for-profit organisation that reinvests in people and services.

As part of the team, you will assess needs, update support plans, help with finances, and promote social inclusion, while adhering to safeguarding and pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse or working in supported living.
  • Knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears and health and safety of the building.
  • Understanding of occupancy agreements.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work on your own initiative.
  • Empathetic and non-judgmental with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Your role



  • Assess client needs and update support plans, signposting to education, training and employment opportunities

(This role is sometimes also referred to as Support Worker, Support Assistant, or Independent Living Assistant).



  • Experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse or working in supported living

  • Knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears and health and safety of the building.

  • Understanding of occupancy agreements

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work on your own initiative

  • Empathetic and non-judgmental with strong interpersonal skills

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards

  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
