Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking a Hostel Worker in Bournemouth to provide high-quality, person-centred support to clients in our homeless services. You will work with a dedicated team to promote recovery, independence and wellbeing in a safe, supportive environment.

The role focuses on coordinating client support, managing hostel operations, and liaising with partner agencies to ensure comprehensive care and appropriate interventions.

About the Role / Job Summary:

We are dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges. As a Hostel Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred support to clients within our supported housing projects. You will be part of a committed team that promotes recovery, independence, and wellbeing for vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate support for allocated clients.
• Manage the operation of the hostel during shifts, addressing emerging issues and incidents.
• Provide practical and personal support to clients in an engaging and flexible manner.
• Assist clients in identifying their personal goals and support them in achieving these aims.
• Liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure appropriate support is provided.
• Contribute to the day-to-day management of the hostel, ensuring a safe and positive living environment.
• Complete procedural and administrative tasks in line with policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
• Experience in a customer-facing hospitality role.
• Experience supporting individuals with mental health issues.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm under pressure.

Education Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in Social Care or a related field are preferred but not essential

Experience Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within social care or supported housing services.
• Experience managing challenging behaviours and responding to incidents effectively.
