Job summary

Bimplus in Preston, Lancashire, is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial delivery of construction projects from contract award through to final account.

You will prepare valuations, manage subcontractor packages, produce CVRs and cost forecasts, monitor project costs, and advise on commercial risks and opportunities while collaborating with project teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience delivering projects in a Main Contractor environment.
• Membership of RICS or working towards chartered status would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial delivery of construction projects from contract award through to final account.

The Role

As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the commercial delivery of construction projects from contract award through to final account
• Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
• Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
• Producing accurate CVRs, cost forecasts, and commercial reports
• Monitoring project costs to maximise profitability and commercial performance
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
• Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
• Working closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Supporting the Commercial Manager with reporting and strategic commercial decisions

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Project Quantity Surveyor will have:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor environment
• Experience delivering projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, residential, or public sector developments
• Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
• Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
• Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Membership of RICS or working towards chartered status would be advantageous
