Job summary

A leading North West building contractor is expanding its Commercial team in Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work with the operations and technical teams to help achieve commercial success on high-profile projects.

Ideal candidates will have experience with schemes above £10m, be IT literate, and comfortable working between office and site locations.

Qualifications

• Experience on large commercial projects and main contractor environments.
• Strong understanding of main and sub-contract forms.
• IT literacy with spreadsheets and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes.
• Ensuring sound financial performance including profitability, cash flow, and managing risks and opportunities.
• Preparation of accurate and detailed monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial Manager.
• Good working knowledge of and application of Main Contract and Sub-Contract Forms and Standard Method of Measurement.
• Preparing and agreeing Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecast final account.
• Appointment of Subcontractors in accordance with Company Procedures, including procurement and account management including valuations, payment notices and agreement of final accounts.
• To work closely with Contracts Management to ensure all required site records and correspondence are completed in accordance with the specific Contract requirements and Company Procedures.
• Maintain a close working relationship with the client and design team to assist in the success of the project and

The Company

We are working with one of the North West's best-known Building Contractors who successfully deliver high profile, new build projects for a varied client base across the North West of England. The vast majority of their projects come from repeat business from an enviable client base. Their supply chain includes some of the best subcontractors in the North West as they pay them on time & treat them well.

The Role

Typical projects include commercial, industrial, multi-storey residential, heritage and leisure projects. They are now in a position to add to their Commercial team; they have secured a number of prestigious schemes across Greater Manchester & Lancashire. Reporting in to an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor you will work closely with the operations and technical teams to help reach a successful commercial outcome on the projects.

General responsibilities

• Undertake all commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes,

• Liaise with Contracts Management to review and monitor project costs whilst achieving high standards of quality and health and safety.

You

• Ideally, they would like to recruit a Quantity Surveyor who has worked for a main contractor undertaking schemes in excess of £10m.


• You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily - your time will be split between the office and sites.


• You will be IT literate.


• Very contractually aware with good knowledge of Construction Contracts.
