Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, seeks a Project Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial success on site, maximise project value and cash flow, and maintain strong client and supplier relationships. The role covers contractual and commercial matters, cost management, and performance control to ensure profitable delivery.

The ideal candidate has onsite measurement experience, NEC3/JCT contract familiarity, and proven people management and communication skills to thrive under pressure.

Job description

As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in driving commercial success, maximising project value and cash flow while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Acting as the commercial lead on site, you'll provide expert support on contractual and commercial matters, manage costs and project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help ensure projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

• Relevant experience working in Build
• An accredited course by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).
• Experience of onsite measures
• NEC3 Option A form of contract and subcontract conditions
• JCT Design & Build and JCT Standard Building Contract experience
• Managing others
• Knowledge and understanding of construction management, construction and sustainable construction techniques.
• Good communicator
• Able to work under pressure
• Effective use of Initiative
