Job description

Are you an experienced, diligent, and highly focused Procurement professional?

We are looking for two Procurement Project Managers with strong Public Sector experience to advise and support Category Teams on procurement strategy. You will lead all aspects of the procurement process, follow NHS SBS’s governance process and timescales, and maintain regular communication with all interested parties. As a Procurement Project Manager at NHS SBS, you will be responsible for leading procurement projects undertaken on behalf of one or more Category Teams, specifically in IT & Digital and Healthcare.

This is a Hybrid Variable role; you will work mostly from home but will be required to travel to our North West Hub in Salford 3-4 times per month, and occasionally to our Leeds office.

What you'll be doing:

1. Prepare ITT documentation and bidder communications aligned with the Procurement Act 2023.
2. Work with our Compliance and Quality Assurance Team, Legal Team, and Sourcing Team to obtain approval at key stages.
3. Apply a robust, diligent, and consistent approach to all procurement activities to optimize quality.
4. Communicate the procurement programme, ensuring all activities are completed on time and all parties are aware of their responsibilities.
5. Liaise with the Programme Management Office for approval of relevant changes.
6. Lead or support the Project Initiation and Project Close-down Meetings, guiding the procurement process.
7. Collaborate with the Category Team to ensure procurement documentation reflects their requirements and NHS SBS gateway process communications.

What you’ll bring:

• Knowledge of public sector procurement and regulated procurement processes.
• Innovative thinking to support problem solving, identify new solutions, and deliver optimal outcomes.
• Emotional intelligence, awareness of team dynamics, and effective team working skills.
• Ability to challenge positively and robustly to improve quality and foster continuous improvement.
• CIPS Level 5 and MCIPS qualification or working towards Level 6.

It would be great if you had:

• Experience with electronic procurement tools and processes.
• Solid understanding of the Procurement Act 2023.
