Job summary

First Recruitment Group is assisting a major infrastructure client with a Project Planner role based in Glasgow or Newcastle. The position can be contract or permanent and requires a skilled planner to lead scheduling across multiple projects.

You will produce and manage schedules, coordinate work packages, manage subcontractor planning, review programmes, and report progress and risks to stakeholders. NEC4 experience essential; Primavera P6 proficiency required; degree preferred;

Qualifications

  • Primavera P6 proficiency essential
  • NEC4 Contracts experience essential
  • Degree or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Experience on major infrastructure design and build projects
  • Nuclear or Defence sector experience desirable

Responsibilities

  • Produce and manage project schedules for stakeholders
  • Coordinate work packages and track progress
  • Coordinate subcontractor planning activities
  • Review subcontractor programmes
  • Interface with stakeholders to report progress, risks and opportunities
  • Support proposal development through manhour estimating and planning input
  • Produce concise project reporting including critical path analysis

Job description

Shape the success of major infrastructure projects with your planning expertise.

Our Client has a requirement for a Project Planner, who will be required to work on a Contract or Permanent basis in Glasgowor Newcastle.

Role Purpose:
  • Support project delivery as part of a growing infrastructure portfolio
  • Act as the local planning lead, working closely with Project Managers and PMO teams
  • Provide planning support across multiple projects from inception through delivery
  • Coordinate project schedules, resources and stakeholder reporting activities
Job Role Responsibilities:
  • Produce and manage project schedules for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate work packages, track progress against schedules and support resource planning
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractor planning activities
  • Review and approve subcontractor programmes
  • Interface with stakeholders to identify and report on progress, changes, risks and opportunities
  • Support proposal development through manhour estimating and planning input
  • Produce concise and accurate project reporting, including critical path analysis and key project metrics
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
  • Primavera P6 proficiency to intermediate level (essential)
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise project updates
  • Ability to engage confidently with subcontractors and critically review submissions
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Degree preferred or equivalent qualification
  • Primavera P6 training
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. APM) beneficial
  • Experience as a Project Planner on NEC4 Contracts is essential, particularly Option A and Option C
  • Experience on major infrastructure design and build projects is highly desirable
  • Experience within the Nuclear or Defence sectors is highly desirable
