Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced Project Planner to develop and manage construction-focused project schedules across the full lifecycle. You will review contractor schedules for compliance and integrity, identify delays and risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

This role supports projects in Scotland with hybrid work options. A driving licence is essential due to site visits; umbrella setup is used for contracting.

Qualifications

• Primavera P6 scheduling on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• NEC3 and FIDIC contract experience including delay assessment and change events.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and site execution.
• Ability to review complex programmes and identify delays/risks with mitigation strategies.

Job description

• Hybrid to an office in Scotland; Glasgow, Perth or Aberdeen
• Daily rate of £500 - £600 a day
• Umbrella set up only
• Background in Energy, Capital Projects, Water, defence or utilities highly regarded
• Must have experience of NEC3 and Primavera P6
• Driving Licence also essential due to the remote location of site visits

We are looking for:

An experienced Project Planner with strong expertise in developing and managing construction-focused project schedules throughout the full project lifecycle.

Adept at reviewing contractor schedules for compliance and integrity, identifying delays and risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience as a Planning Engineer using Primavera P6 on large scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• A solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site execution, gained through hands-on experience with multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
• Practical experience working under NEC3/FIDIC contracts, including assessing delay impacts, change events, and contractor claims.
• Expertise in reviewing complex programmes and ensuring quality.
• Demonstrated ability to use Primavera P6 to build and manage complex, logic-linked construction programmes
• Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive, can-do attitude and solid knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office Suite
