Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Project Planner to support a growing infrastructure portfolio. The role can be offered on a contract or permanent basis, based in Glasgow or Newcastle, and will act as the local planning lead working with PMO teams.

You will coordinate schedules, resources, and reporting across multiple projects from inception through delivery, delivering risk and progress updates to stakeholders and contributing to planning input for proposals.

Qualifications

• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise project updates.
• Ability to engage confidently with subcontractors and critically review submissions.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Degree preferred or equivalent qualification.
• Experience as a Project Planner on NEC4 Contracts is essential, particularly Option A and Option C.

Responsibilities

• Produce and manage project schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate work packages, track progress against schedules and support resource planning.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractor planning activities.
• Review and approve subcontractor programmes.
• Interface with stakeholders to identify and report on progress, changes, risks and opportunities.
• Support proposal development through manhour estimating and planning input.
• Produce concise and accurate project reporting, including critical path analysis and key project metrics.
