A leading energy project firm in Glasgow is seeking a Planner to manage project schedules and ensure alignment with cost and time standards. Candidates should have major project experience in the energy sector and proficiency in Primavera P6. Strong communication and planning skills are essential for this role, which may require overnight stays in Ireland and the UK.
Job Title: Planner
Reporting to: Project Manager
The successful candidate will apply professional project management principles and work to the highest Health and Safety standards, allowing Omexom to maintain a strong reputation for safe, on-time, and on-cost delivery of projects to clients’ exact specifications.
Given the nature of work in Ireland and the UK, the role may require regular overnight stays.
This post requires a high degree of commitment, flexibility, and adaptability.
Including, but not limited to:
Addressing issues as they arise and adjusting plans accordingly.
Liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers to organise phases of construction.
Producing tender plans to support bids.
Creating, maintaining, reviewing, and administering construction schedules and plans.
Liaising with the production and technical team.
Ensuring project progress aligns with time scales and cost plans.
Using Primavera P6 to manage project schedules.
Acting as a role model for Omexom Company Values.
Interfaces and relationships with:
Client representatives
Supplier representatives
Business Unit General Manager
Operations / Project Managers
Operational teams
Experience on major projects within the energy sector, preferably electricity transmission.
Proficiency in Primavera P6, including:
Resource and cost loading
Generating Earned Value reports
Producing graphic and tabular progress reports
Expert planning and scheduling knowledge.
Ability to develop programmes from first principles and critically review supplier programmes.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge of NEC3 and its application to project programmes.
Good knowledge of CDM and its impact on programmes.
Accurate and concise report writing and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong computer literacy, including MS Office and MS Project.
Proficiency in MS Excel: look-up tables, filtering, data manipulation, summarisation, and formulas.
Significant construction experience on major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
Knowledge in Construction Management.
