Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse or Midwife to join the Medicines Management and Pharmacy Services (MMPS) Nursing Team on a 12-month fixed‑term/secondment basis.

You will support medicines management, patient safety and quality improvement projects across the Trust, working with ward teams, matrons, pharmacists and other professionals to embed improvements in clinical practice.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with current practice registration.
  • Experience at Band 5 level or above in a clinical setting.
  • Interest in medicines management and patient safety.
  • Experience delivering or supporting education and training for healthcare staff.
  • Knowledge of clinical audit processes and service improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of medicines management, patient safety, quality improvement and education initiatives across the Trust.
  • Collaborate with ward teams, matrons, senior nurses, pharmacists and other colleagues to implement improvements.
  • Contribute to education and training activities and share best practices.
  • Engage in Trust-wide improvement programmes and project work.

What you will bring to the role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse or Midwife who is keen to develop their skills in project delivery, quality improvement and medicines management. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a clinical environment at Band 5 level or above.
  • An interest in medicines management, patient safety and improving clinical practice.
  • Experience of delivering or supporting education and training for healthcare staff.
  • Knowledge of clinical audit processes and an ability to support service improvement initiatives.
  • Confidence in presenting information and engaging with a range of staff groups.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to a wider team.
  • Effective IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to supporting change across clinical services.
