We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Band 6 Rotational Midwife to join Womens Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Working across Leeds General Infirmary, St Jamess University Hospital and community settings, you will provide safe, evidence-based, personalised care to women, birthing people and their babies throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.This varied role offers internal rotation across maternity services, including day and night shifts, within a large tertiary maternity service supporting approximately 10,000 births each year. You will bring strong clinical judgement, excellent communication and a flexible, collaborative approach, while supporting colleagues and contributing to the leadership and continuous improvement of care.
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, and may be required to teach other midwives and non-midwifery staff. They take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of women.The post holder is a prime care provider who is required to practice clinical skills developed through experience but at a more advanced level than required for those who have just qualified as midwives.The post holder is designated to take charge of a ward in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility.The maternity unit has approximately 10,000 births a year. LTHT is a tertiary referral centre for both obstetrics and neonatology. Other specialities within the hospital that impact on maternity unit are feto-maternal medicine, adult and neonatal cardiology, neonatal surgery and a reproductive medicine unit.Please see attached Job Description for further information.
