Job summary

Urban Connect is seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee six small water-sector schemes across Derbyshire. You will manage programmes, budgets and performance while coordinating site teams, subcontractors and designers to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, clear communication and a hands-on ownership approach, with immediate start and a track record in water-sector projects. Derbyshire-based work with autonomy and accountability.

Qualifications

• Water-sector experience in project delivery across water schemes.
• Experience managing multiple projects or schemes simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, programme and commercial management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of delivery.
• Relevant project management and construction experience.

We're currently looking for an experienced Freelance Project Manager to join a highly regarded main contractor within the water sector, overseeing six new small schemes across Derbyshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a brilliant, well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects and looking after its people.

The Role

As Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for the successful delivery of six small schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the delivery of multiple small water-sector schemes across Derbyshire
• Taking ownership of programmes, budgets and project performance
• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, designers and stakeholders
• Managing health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Monitoring progress and resolving project issues
• Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual requirements

About You

We're looking for a confident and experienced Project Manager with:

• Previous water-sector experience
