Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Freelance Project Manager to oversee a high-rise recladding project in Central Manchester. You will hold full responsibility for delivery, ensuring safety, quality, budget and timeline targets over a 30-week contract.

You will coordinate site operations, manage subcontractors, ensure regulatory compliance (UK building regs, fire safety), and act as the main liaison with the client, authorities, and residents.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing major external envelope, facade, or recladding projects.
• Deep understanding of current UK building regulations and fire safety legislation.
• valid certifications: SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work.
• Strong leadership to manage complex stakeholder environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate specialist cladding subcontractors.
• Ensure strict compliance with building regulations, fire safety standards, and health & safety executive (HSE) guidelines.
• Track project milestones against the 30-week schedule, managing risks and resolving delays proactively.
• Act as the primary liaison between the client, local authorities, building control, and residents/tenants.
• Manage budgets, variations, and progress valuations alongside the commercial team.

Requirements

• Proven track record managing major external envelope, facade, or recladding projects.
• Deep understanding of current UK building regulations, fire safety legislation, and Remediation Funds.
• Valid certifications: SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work.
• Strong leadership skills to manage complex stakeholder environments in a busy city-centre location.
