Job summary

Arup is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Flood Risk Management team, based in Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff or Bristol. You will support the delivery of flood risk, climate resilience and infrastructure projects, working with experienced managers and technical specialists to safeguard communities and environments.

You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, assisting with planning, governance, controls and stakeholder engagement, while developing your project delivery

Qualifications

• Experience in project management, engineering, environmental or consultancy.
• Understanding of project planning, budgets, programmes, risk and project controls.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of change management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Microsoft Project is desirable.
• Interest in flood risk, water, climate resilience or infrastructure.
• Working towards or holding APM, CIWEM, ICE, PMI or equivalent membership.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a diverse portfolio of flood risk, climate resilience and infrastructure projects.
• Gain exposure to full project lifecycle including planning, governance and controls.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Support commercial management, budgets and stakeholder engagement throughout projects.
• Develop experience in client and project delivery within a national context.
