Project Manager

The Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join one of the UK's leading specialist contractors, overseeing the successful delivery of multiple technically complex construction projects across the North West, North East and Scotland.

Rather than being tied to one large project, you'll manage several live schemes simultaneously, working closely with Site Managers, clients and subcontractors to ensure every project is delivered safely, profitably and to the exceptionally high standards the business is known for.

From specialist cleanrooms and cold storage facilities through to fire-rated construction and refurbishment works, you'll be involved in projects that require careful planning, strong leadership and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Role Overview

As Project Manager, you'll take overall responsibility for a portfolio of live projects, ensuring each one is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.

You'll be leading several Site Managers across multiple sites, providing support, direction and guidance whilst allowing them the autonomy to successfully run their own projects. You'll monitor progress, identify risks before they become issues and work closely with commercial and operational teams to keep every project moving forward.

Building strong client relationships will be a key part of your role. You'll regularly meet with customers, consultants and subcontractors, ensuring expectations are managed and projects continue to exceed them. You'll also oversee procurement, programme delivery and commercial performance, making sure each project remains profitable whilst maintaining the exceptional quality standards the business has become known for.

This is a varied and autonomous position where every week is different. If you enjoy balancing multiple projects, solving problems and leading experienced delivery teams, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing specialist contractor.

About You

You'll already have experience managing multiple construction projects and be comfortable overseeing several sites simultaneously. You're commercially aware, highly organised and confident making decisions that positively influence programme, quality and client satisfaction.

You'll be an excellent communicator who enjoys building long-term relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors, whilst supporting Site Managers to deliver successful outcomes on site.

Previous experience within specialist construction, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, cleanrooms, cold storage or fire protection would certainly be advantageous, although candidates from broader construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Ideally, you'll hold a construction-related qualification alongside SMSTS, CSCS and a full UK driving licence. Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, developing people and delivering technically challenging projects.
