Job summary

Laing O'Rourke, based in Birmingham, is seeking a Project Information Manager to lead the information management service on a high-value project. You will collaborate with project teams, clients and regional IM teams to establish robust processes in line with ISO 19650 and best practice.

You will implement standards, drive digitalisation, manage the IM team, and deliver training and support across the project. Strong leadership, communication and technical IM capabilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project Information Management team, including recruitment, development, training, performance management and retention.
  • Develop, agree and communicate project Information Standards, Methods and Procedures in collaboration with the Digital Engineer and Regional Information Management team.
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities for the Information Management function.
  • Ensure appropriate information security and access controls are maintained.
  • Establish effective project communication and information management systems.
  • Coordinate and produce project reporting, including client and system reports.
  • Deliver training and ongoing support to project teams on information management systems and processes.
  • Manage quality procedures across administrative and document control activities.
  • Lead or facilitate the production of the project's digital handover, including system setup, reporting and stakeholder meetings.
  • Provide information management system support and training to the procurement team for tender documentation and addenda.
  • Establish and manage electronic and hard-copy archiving procedures in accordance with company policy.
  • Review project procedures and systems and share lessons learned and best practice with central functions.
  • Identify opportunities for further digitalisation, innovation and process improvement.
  • Participate in relevant business and functional forums and contribute to the wider Information Management community.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the project.

We are looking for an experienced and highly capableProject Information Manager to lead the delivery of an exceptional Information Management service across a high-value, complex project.

The Role

AsProject Information Manager, you will work collaboratively with project teams, functional leads, clients and regional Information Management teams to establish and maintain robust information management processes in line with ISO 19650 and organisational best practice.

You will lead the implementation of project information standards, systems and procedures while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through digitalisation and innovative use of existing technology.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Knowledge
  • Detailed knowledge of ISO 19650.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams.
  • Expert knowledge of collaboration and Electronic Document Management Systems, preferably Asite.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of digital handover processes.
  • Experience implementing and supporting mobile quality management systems, preferably Field View.
  • Confident use of mobile technology, including tablets and smartphones.
