Job summary

Balfour Beatty's Power Transmission & Distribution team is seeking a Cost Controller in Motherwell to support cost management, analysis and reporting for major projects. This role sits within the project finance function and interacts with operational and commercial stakeholders.

You will monitor costs, perform variance analyses, and help drive financial performance across projects with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Experience with cost management and reporting in a project finance context.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, HR and Projects.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with cost queries, providing analyses and insights.
• Assist Commercial by accurate cost allocation and weekly cost reports.
• Perform variance analysis comparing actuals to forecasts/budgets.
• Monitor and track project costs to support financial targets.
• Support Senior Finance Manager with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
• Work with project teams to facilitate monthly/quarterly audits with cost samples.
