GE Vernova is looking to recruit Project Engineering Leaders to work on exciting new projects within our North & Southern European Grid Solutions Business. This role involves instructing, supervising, coordinating and leading engineering activities, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost criteria are met. You’ll be the technical lead of electrical design and engineering on large energy projects, including preparing specifications, managing design budgets, overseeing change processes, and coordinating internal and partner engineering activities.
Responsibilities
- Issue consolidation of provisional drawing lists and integrate submission dates.
- Manage global schedules of engineering activities, ensuring coherence with procurement, construction and commissioning, and follow up critical activities.
- Plan and manage delivery times of technical interfaces with partners, customers and third‑party contractors.
- Ensure on‑time delivery of design to stakeholders with appropriate quality, including partner documents.
- Support Project Engineering Director and Project I&I Manager in engineering change management on large and complex projects.
- Lead and coordinate design teams – Primary, Secondary and Civil Designers.
- Monitor the engineering budget, identify potential savings, and highlight items requiring additional budget.
- Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews per EMH procedures.
- Manage scope or design changes and prepare related claims and VO for approval.
- Analyse customer technical requirements, prepare clause‑by‑clause analyses, and ensure compliance through Technical Queries.
- Represent customer interests in design decisions at the Project Manager's request.
- Validate design throughout customer acceptance.
- Manage documentation status (approved, comments, resubmit, rejected) for the work package.
- Review technical specifications and supplier documents to support procurement of materials and detailed plant design.
- Evaluate design effectiveness against contract requirements within the budget, seeking cost optimisation throughout the design phase.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree level or equivalent education/experience.
- Experience as a lead engineer in an EPC environment.
- Successful experience in technical project management within multi‑disciplinary teams, handling multiple interfaces and products from various countries.
- Knowledge of the Transmission or Distribution industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Renewable Energy systems.
- Knowledge of GIS systems.
