Job summary

Key tasks include developing drawings in AutoCAD, evaluating vendor quotes, coordinating with cross‑functional teams, monitoring schedules and costs, and traveling up to 20% to sites and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience.
• Experience, such as an internship, within the material handling industry.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Designing/ Enhancing conveyor systems and various automated material handling systems, possibly on entire projects.
• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer requirements.
• Coordinates activities related to technical developments, scheduling and resolving design and test problems.
• Creates approval, permit and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders.
• Monitors project schedule, engineering time and material costs.
• Ensures engineered solutions fit within system constraints and interfaces with customers, vendors, and installers.
• Travels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems and interface with customers.
• Participates in continuous improvement projects.
• Complies with Daifuku’s QMS policies and drives sustainable processes.
