Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to join its growing engineering team. You will oversee the design, development and delivery of bespoke materials handling systems from concept through to installation and commissioning.

Key tasks include producing GA drawings with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, detailing BOMs, and developing solutions for conveyors and related equipment. You will work with customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure project success and on-site

Qualifications

• Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to produce GA drawings and detailed designs.
• Strong understanding of materials handling equipment or conveyors.
• Experience with BOM management and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Produce 2D/3D GA drawings and system layouts using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Design and develop engineering solutions including conveyors, structures, chutes and related equipment.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, project managers, sales and manufacturing teams to deliver projects.
• Attend site visits for measurements, installations and commissioning support.
• Produce technical specifications, manuals and engineering documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement by challenging existing designs.

Our client is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a varied role involving the design, development, and delivery of bespoke materials handling systems, taking projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• The Project Engineer will manage engineering aspects of projects from initial concept through to manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Produce 2D and 3D general arrangement drawings and system layouts using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• The Project Engineer will design and develop engineering solutions including conveyors, structures, access platforms, walkways, chutes, and associated equipment.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, models, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Work closely with customers, suppliers, project managers, sales teams, and manufacturing departments to deliver successful projects.
• Attend site visits to take measurements, support installations, and oversee commissioning activities.
• Produce technical specifications, manuals, and engineering documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement by challenging existing designs and identifying innovative engineering solutions.

Skills & Experience

• The Project Engineer will need to have strong experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing GA drawings, detailed designs, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of fabrication, sheet metal, and special-purpose machinery design, ideally conveyors or materials handling equipment.
• Experience with BOM management and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
