Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Engineer for Fire Suppression to lead installation delivery across Northwest or Yorkshire. The role focuses on safety, quality, and cost control, coordinating site teams and subcontractors to meet timelines.

The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical fire suppression, strong organisation, and a proven track record in supervising engineering teams, with a full UK driving licence and 3+ years in the Fire/Sprinkler sector.

Qualifications

• Experience working within an installation environment.
• Proven experience supervising or managing engineering teams.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience with Mechanical Fire Suppression systems.
• Ideally 3+ years in the Fire/Sprinkler industry.
• Knowledge of LPCB BS12845 and/or NFPA standards (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead installation delivery, quality, and Health & Safety standards.
• Manage your financial work bank and support cost optimisation.
• Coordinate subcontractors on site.
• Monitor defects, scope deviations, and documentation accuracy.
• Plan manpower and equipment to meet project timelines and budgets.
• Conduct regular safety and quality audits.
• Support team development through performance assessments and annual appraisals.
• Manage workload to maximise productivity and forecast accuracy.
• Prepare reports and programmes for senior management.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Experience working within an installation environment
• Proven experience supervising or managing engineering teams
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to build, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams
• A full UK driving licence
• Experience with Mechanical Fire Suppression systems
• Ideally 3+ years in the Fire/Sprinkler industry
• Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of LPCB BS12845 and/or NFPA standards (preferred)
