Job summary

Johnson Controls, Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions, is recruiting a Project Engineer – Fire Suppression for field-based work in the UK. The role focuses on leading installation delivery, safety, and team coordination across Northwest or Yorkshire regions.

You will manage subcontractors, maintain schedule and budget control, and drive continuous improvement in project execution while upholding high standards of quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an installation environment.
• Proven experience supervising or managing engineering teams.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with Mechanical Fire Suppression systems.
• 3+ years in the Fire/Sprinkler industry (preferred).
• Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation delivery, quality, and Health & Safety standards.
• Manage your own financial work bank and support cost optimisation.
• Coordinate subcontractors on site.
• Monitor defects, scope deviations, and documentation accuracy.
• Plan manpower and equipment to meet project timelines and budgets.
• Conduct regular safety and quality audits.
• Support team development through performance assessments and annual appraisals.
• Manage workload to maximise productivity and forecast accuracy.
• Prepare reports for senior management.
• Liaise with Credit Control to minimise disputes and support timely invoicing.
